YOU MUST AND SHOULD INDULGE YOUR GOD-GIVEN GIFTS OF TALENT - IT'S GIVEN YOU FOR A PURPOSE

---------------
.
If only to prove my point that you must and should indulge your gift of talent, I am posting here paintings (in watercolor) which I did the past few weeks or so. I am showing you that talent is a gift from a magnificent God who simply wants you to enjoy life through expressions of your heavenly gifts.
.
Now this gift which I speak of varies from person to person. Things such as the gifts of song... of writing... of poetry... of dancing... of designing... of needlework.... culinary skills perhaps.... of creative ideas which turn the ordinary into the extraordinary. Or the gifts of leadership... teamwork... compassion... kindness.... vision.... management... teaching.... healing... organization... of being a visionary... an inspiration... an encourager... a brilliant builder.... or being simply a Pollyanna to the world.
.
These gifts are not there or given you just for the heck of it. They are given you... or us... to serve a purpose. But I'm not going to tell you what your own purpose is because I think and believe that Somebody up there will lead you to discover it yourself. As He had given me opportunities to discover mine.
.
With no formal training in the art, one day several yeas ago I decided to give it a try armed with just a simple desire to paint. My daughter seeing that I had more free time in retirement gave me a huge nudge or push to get things done pronto before and to quote her.... " the desire gets lost or vanishes in thin air." Yeah, it was a push I could no longer ignore. I guess its time had come. And so I did!
.
I can't tell you in sufficient words the satisfaction and delight felt in accomplishing something you thought you never knew or had. Through the years that followed paintings in watercolor came out from my first fumbling steps and on to honing my newfound craft while growing too with every canvas finished. And now trying my hand at acrylics. Still so much room to learn and grow... and happily at that. Thank God.
.
I urge and encourage you to seek out your gift; it's there waiting to be discovered. When you soon discover your God-given talent, do remember to share the precious moment and experience with us, your friends. We'll be expecting it. :-) God bless you.

MAKE THE CHASE MORE PRODUCTIVE

It’s not always smart to spread yourself thin over a wide range of prospects.... quite unthinkingly.

..... narrow down the choices to the best of the crop. (This is what employers do, too)

BEING AWESOME IS SUCCESS

 Ellen A. Santos Diaz's photo.
------------
"Success comes in a lot of ways, but it doesn't come with money and it doesn't come with fame. It comes from having a meaning in your life, doing what you love and being passionate about what you do. That's having a life of success. When you have the ability to do what you love, love what you do and have the ability to impact people. That's having a life of success. That's what having a life of meaning is." ---- Tim Tebow
.
Often we associate success with big bank accounts, huge mansions, flashy and expensive cars, impressive roll of connections, heaps of titles to a name, being on the society pages of the daily papers, the namedropping of famous names-celebrities-personalities, and all the curious trappings of wealth ---- all spell m-o-n-e-y and f-a-m-e. That's been fed into our brains by the media, by our schools, by our friends and peers, even by our parents. Everything that we try to do is measured against that list. If we don't make it on that list, we are immediately labeled 'failed'.
.
Oh those things are not bad in itself; they also have their uses. What is sad is that some make them the only measure of success. That's being short-sighted. It's not seeing the whole of life and the people in it as a huge landscape and panorama of diversity of brilliance and talent,... and awesomeness.
.

Life is awesome. Surely there are so many ways we can live that awesomeness and be successful at it. There is and can be no one label or tag for success. Anyone who lends his or her talent or gift to better other lives.........  or anyone who displays with authentic wisdom and clarity the magnificence of our God...........  or any effort, big or small, which gives life its awesome meaning is  ----  success!! That, for the record, tops anything and everything on my list.
.
God bless you! Be awesome.

SHINE WITH YOUR GIFT - SHINE WITH YOUR LIGHT

How sad to see young people simply sit and long for the good life and bright chances enjoyed by the perceived lucky ones, some talented ones, the rich and famous, a few overnight sensations, and some bold freaks with their fifteen minutes of fame for some odd reason or another. That is not a far-away dream... it can be yours too. The good dream, I must say.

Nobody can be better than you when you decide to become better if not the best. But first you must want to be the best. Perhaps not always the best in the world but you can where you are in your own little corner of the world ..... the best to yourself.

The best homemaker who can cook up a scrumptious lasagna in the neighborhood anytime... the most giving person at the office -- giving of his time, expertise, kindness... the most dedicated teacher in the barrio... the most admired person who created the most beautiful flower garden this side of town... the most cheerful vendor of 'taho' rain or shine... a staunch believer and defender of animal rights... the most honest public servant... the best cop on the block... and so much more where one's light shines through and out with all of its brilliance. True value. And that, by any measure human or divine, is perfect. It fits God's perfect plan for yourself. You'll have God grinning from ear to ear!

Greatness - potential - happiness is all there inside of you. Haven't you heard that said and written about a million times over? All you have to do is peel off the unwanted layers of insecurity and fear which hold it down. Decide to take up your wings and fly... soar like an eagle because you are meant to soar. Bloom where God has planted you in whatever measure or capacity you have been equipped with. Use it. And that, I must say again, is the divine blueprint of our human lives.

And to a few still unsure or who think they are quite 'content'..... think about this quote
"What is terrible is to pretend that the second-rate is first rate, that you don't need love when you do or that you like your work when you know quite well you're capable of better."      - Doris Lessing (England)

Indeed, capable of BETTER!
So then soar! Shine brighter with your light!
Just do it where you are. Shine with your gift.
Make God smile.
